The Baddest Female ist the debut single by South Korean singer CL, the former leader of the girl group 2NE1. It was released digital-only on May 28, 2013 together with a music video.

The song is a collaboration between CL and Teddy. CL wrote the lyrics while Teddy produced the song. Musically, it's a K-Pop and hip-hop song that incorporates elements of dubstep and electro.[1]

Upon it's release "The Baddest Female" debuted on spot #1 on the MelOn Music chart and debuted at #4 on the overall Gaon digital music chart.[2][3]

Background[]

The first teaser for "The Baddest Female" was revealed on May 23, 2013 on YG Entertainments website. At that time the official english title was "Bad Girl", but due to Lee Hyo Ri releasing her single "Bad Girls" shortly after, the agency changed it to "The Baddest Female".[4] Another teaser photo was released a day after revealing that labelmate Teddy was the producer of the song.[5]

Music Video[]

The music video was released on 2NE1s Youtube channel the same day as the single itself. Directed by Seo Hyun Seung, the video features various cameo appearances, for example G-Dragon and Taeyang from BIGBANG as well as producer Teddy.
